From October 31 to November 2, the 2023 Yunqi Conference was held in Yunqi Town, Hangzhou. Yan Shaolin pointed out that, driven by multiple factors such as policies and market development, 'Made in China 2025' is accelerating the digital transformation of manufacturing. Industrial internet platforms have become a key force in driving continuous changes in industrial infrastructure, production methods, and innovation models. Advanced technologies like cloud services are developing rapidly, accelerating the shift of the industrial economy toward a data-driven innovation system and development model.

“Taking advanced manufacturing as an example, 'manufacturing on the cloud' can help companies reduce costs and increase efficiency by shortening deployment cycles, lowering investment risks, reducing IT usage barriers, and improving business flexibility. For instance, in the semiconductor industry, using cloud computing platforms allows design teams to optimize simulations by scheduling and utilizing required hardware resources, improving development efficiency. Chip manufacturing and packaging/testing can use cloud monitoring to correlate production progress and data across various stages, enhancing production efficiency and product quality.”


Semiconductor factories involve complex processes and massive data. To achieve high-yield output, low latency and rapid response to all anomalies are essential. Yan Shaolin explained that cloud computing and edge computing, as two typical computing paradigms, each have their strengths and weaknesses. Relying solely on cloud or edge computing is insufficient to realize the vision of IoT and 5G communication. To address these challenges, cloud-edge collaboration has emerged, supporting further efficiency improvements in the semiconductor industry.




Yan Shaolin stated that the rapid advancement of 'cloud-edge collaboration' technology has led more companies to focus on using cloud technology to build digital factories and create intelligent systems from order to delivery, meeting diverse customer needs. For instance, in quality management, introducing GPT technology enables AI to identify improvement processes and outputs, generating AIGC-type 8D reports for effective data and process management.
