GETECH and Jinyu New Energy Collaborate | Advanced Industrial Internet Boosts Intelligent Operation of Solid-State Batteries
Recently, Zhejiang Jinyu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jinyu New Energy) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with GETECH and held the MES project kick-off meeting for Jinyu New Energy's solid-state battery in Anji, Huzhou.
A solid-state battery is a type of battery that uses solid electrodes and a solid electrolyte. Compared to traditional lithium batteries (liquid electrolyte), solid-state batteries have a solid electrolyte, whose density and structure allow more charged ions to gather at one end, conducting a larger current and thereby increasing battery capacity. Therefore, for the same power, solid-state batteries are smaller in size. Moreover, due to the absence of liquid electrolyte, solid-state batteries are easier to seal and do not require additional cooling pipes, electronic controls, etc., when used in large equipment such as automobiles, not only saving costs but also effectively reducing weight.
Analysis indicates that if solid-state batteries can leverage and enhance their safety advantages, strive to dominate energy density, and further optimize rate capability, cycle life, and manufacturability, they can consolidate their core potential customers in advantageous scenarios; if performance and cost progress significantly, they will become a key technological route to replace existing lithium batteries.
According to market forecasts, global demand for solid-state batteries will reach 44.2 GWh and 494.9 GWh in 2025 and 2030, respectively. By 2030, the market size is expected to climb to over 150 billion yuan. To capture the vast market share in this new track, many well-known domestic and international companies have accelerated their layouts.
