GCL-Getech Foreign Expert Advisor Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber Honored as 'Global Solar Scientist'
On June 12, the SNEC 17th (2024) International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy (Shanghai) Conference officially opened. Industry leaders and authoritative academic experts from around the world gathered in Shanghai to discuss the future of energy and jointly promote new developments in the industry. Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber, Foreign Expert Advisor of GCL-Getech and Academician of the German Academy of Science and Engineering, was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech.
As a top expert in the global new energy field, Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber is a key participant in Germany's Industry 4.0 revolution. Since the 1980s, he has been engaged in research on solar photovoltaic materials, photovoltaic cells, and devices, and was elected as an Academician of the German Academy of Science and Engineering. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) and formerly chaired the SEMI Global Board of Directors. During the conference, Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber was honored with the title of 'Global Solar Scientist'.
On June 11, Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber visited GCL-Getech for an exchange. Liu Yuzhao, General Manager of TCL Strategy Department, Ren Xueliang, General Manager of GCL-Getech Education and Industrial Control Automation Division, and Yang Li, Marketing Director of GCL-Getech, warmly received Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber, and the two sides held in-depth discussions.
Liu Yuzhao and Ren Xueliang introduced TCL's strategic layout and smart manufacturing practices in semiconductor materials, new energy photovoltaics, energy storage, and other fields to Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on the global energy revolution and the digital and intelligent upgrading of the new energy industry under Industry 4.0, reaching multiple consensuses.
