Building a New High Ground for China's Energy-Carbon Big Model: GETECH Joins Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Yangtze River Delta Investment to Establish Energy and AI Joint Lab

2025-11-19

On November 18, Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Oasis Smart Valley · Zhao Xiang Park welcomed a significant innovative cooperation. The 'Shanghai Jiao Tong University State Power Investment Smart Energy Innovation College - TCL GETECH Yangtze River Delta Future Energy and AI Low-Carbon Technology Joint Laboratory,' jointly established by GETECH, Shanghai Jiao Tong University State Power Investment Smart Energy Innovation College, and Yangtze River Delta Zhao Xiang Emerging Industry Economic Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., was officially signed and launched. This is a key implementation of the national digital economy strategy and the 'dual carbon' goals by government, industry, and academia, and a crucial layout in the Yangtze River Delta region in the 'future energy + green low-carbon + artificial intelligence' track.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University Smart Energy Innovation College Party Committee Secretary Zhu Xiaohong, Yangtze River Delta Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Party Committee Member and Vice President Liu Jun, Qingpu District Zhao Xiang Town Party Committee Secretary Xu Jue, TCL Industrial Vice President and GETECH CEO He Jun, and other leaders delivered opening speeches, unveiling a new chapter in future energy intelligence and low-carbon technology development.

He Jun stated in his speech that China's manufacturing industry is facing dual challenges of intelligent and green transformation, with industrial AI and energy dual carbon converging. As a leading industrial AI company, GETECH's AI Energy-Carbon Brain has shown significant results, serving over 100 factories in the past three years, achieving energy savings and carbon reduction of over 400,000 tons, and leading in the new energy battery sector. However, deeper energy savings require stronger technical support. He Jun emphasized that GETECH is building China's leading vertical big model in the energy-carbon field, and the establishment of this joint lab marks the entry of China's energy-carbon intelligence into the 'industrial-level collaborative innovation' stage, where research, industry, and regional development will truly form synergy.

According to Wang Hui, General Manager of the Carbon Neutrality and Peak Carbon Division of GETECH, the joint laboratory will focus on three core themes: "Future Energy + Green and Low-Carbon + Artificial Intelligence." It will prioritize cutting-edge areas such as AIGC in energy and carbon verticals, AI-integrated HVAC systems, AI-driven electricity-carbon trading, and AI-optimized microgrids. The three parties will collaboratively build a comprehensive chain encompassing "basic research—technological breakthroughs—achievement transformation—industrial application—talent cultivation."

The signing and launch ceremony was completed by representatives from Shanghai Jiao Tong University Smart Energy Innovation College, Yangtze River Delta Zhao Xiang Company, and GETECH, fully integrating government resources, university research capabilities, and industrial experience to conduct in-depth cooperation, aiming to set an important example for China's green digital intelligence practice and build a high ground for future energy and AI+ green low-carbon industry innovation.

After the launch ceremony, the attending guests visited the Yangtze River Delta Oasis Zhi Valley·Zhaoxiang Park for an on-site inspection, gaining an in-depth understanding of the digital energy industry ecosystem and the development of sci-tech innovation enterprises. It is noteworthy that the initial phase of the laboratory's research will focus on manufacturing plant scenarios, tackling technical challenges in areas such as unmanned operation and maintenance of large-scale energy models, AI-driven energy-saving control algorithms, and energy modeling analysis. The subsequent phase will expand to include microgrid management, intelligent carbon emission planning, optimization of new energy assets, and AI-powered decision-making in electricity-carbon trading. Against the backdrop of dual carbon goals, this initiative not only relates to energy conservation and consumption reduction but also signifies a fundamental upgrade in the operational logic of manufacturing and the underlying energy systems.

As a key initiator, GETECH will invest optimal resources to support lab construction, promote the R&D and implementation of China's energy-carbon vertical big model, deeply understand energy-carbon management expertise based on the vertical big model, achieve more accurate energy consumption prediction, smarter scheduling optimization, and comprehensive carbon footprint tracking, helping the lab become a highly productive platform. This cooperation not only demonstrates GETECH's technical strength in industrial AI but also highlights its determination to drive industry green transformation through innovation.

With global energy structure restructuring and the 'dual carbon' goals advancing, the deep integration of AI and energy-carbon management has become an irreversible trend. The joint lab's launch is expected to become a technology source and industry incubator in the Yangtze River Delta and nationwide for green low-carbon and AI integration, contributing Chinese wisdom to building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system.
