This time, Gtrontec provided an integrated solution of EAP (Equipment Automation Platform) and RMS (Recipe Management System) around the customer's 8-inch factory smart manufacturing upgrade needs, helping the customer enhance equipment automation, strengthen process control capabilities, achieve real-time production data connectivity, and lay the digital foundation for semiconductor manufacturing to move toward the era of industrial intelligence.

In the semiconductor manufacturing process, equipment, data, and processes are key factors affecting production efficiency and product quality. Facing the requirements of industrial intelligence development, the customer's traditional production model encounters multiple challenges:

Project Challenges

First, equipment management relies on manual labor. Equipment startup/shutdown and operation monitoring lack unified automated scheduling capabilities;

Second, process management relies on experience. Production parameters are recorded and verified manually on paper, and recipe management is scattered, making it difficult to ensure standardization and consistency in process execution;

Third, production data is difficult to integrate. Material flow and production data posting require significant manual intervention, affecting production efficiency and full-process traceability capabilities.

To further enhance factory automation and digital intelligence capabilities, the enterprise plans to build EAP and RMS systems to achieve automated equipment control, production data collection, and operation status monitoring, driving the upgrade of production and management models.

Making equipment obey—EAP achieves automated equipment control. Based on SEMI standards, the Gtrontec EAP system enables unified equipment access, automated control, and production process linkage, giving equipment autonomous execution capabilities.

Making data flow automatically—Opening up the full production process data chain. The Gtrontec EAP system supports real-time equipment data collection and operation status monitoring, aggregating equipment status, processing data, and material information during production, providing a data foundation for production management, quality analysis, and process optimization. Through automatic data flow, production processes shift from manual record-keeping to real-time transparent management.

Making recipes error-free—RMS strengthens standardized process management. To address the complexity of process parameters and high risks of manual operation in semiconductor production, the Gtrontec RMS system enables centralized and intelligent management of equipment process recipes. Through unified recipe maintenance, verification, and distribution, it reduces the risk of human error, improves production process standardization, and supports product quality stability and process traceability.

The project covers 100+ equipment units in the customer's 8-inch factory, with test equipment accounting for 17% and through-line equipment accounting for 83%.

Production loading: Transitioned from process card guidance and manual records to automatic system collection and upload;

Material accounting comparison: Transitioned from manual inspection and verification to automatic verification by EAP linked with MES;

Parameter setting: Transitioned from manual modification by engineers to automatic system updates and maintenance;

Production processing: Transitioned from manual equipment operation to automatic recipe selection and processing initiation by the system;

Data collection: Transitioned from manual transcription to automatic collection of equipment status, processing materials, and measurement data;

Production completion: Transitioned from manual MES outbound operations to automatic triggering by EAP.
