GETECH, TCL Industrial Research Institute, and CSOT Establish Smart Manufacturing Joint Design Center - Replication
Recently, the inauguration ceremony of the Smart Manufacturing Joint Design Center (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Center), jointly established by GETECH, TCL Industrial Research Institute, and CSOT, was held in Shenzhen. Attendees included Yan Xiaolin, CTO and Senior Vice President of TCL Group and Director of TCL Industrial Research Institute; Chen Shengzhong, Senior Vice President of CSOT; He Jun, Vice President of TCL Industrial Holdings and CEO of GETECH; and Yu Dahai, General Manager of TCL Industrial Research Institute (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.
TCL Industrial Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) is a leading industrial research institution in China, with multiple CNAL nationally accredited laboratories. The Institute maintains close collaborations with renowned universities and research institutions such as City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, and Tsinghua University, and has established several joint laboratories with international companies like Intel. Equipped with internationally advanced development software, instruments, and equipment, its research areas cover interconnection technology, display technology, video and image processing technology, digital TV technology, and more. The Institute employs over 500 staff, with 80% directly engaged in technical R&D, and its core team consists of well-known expert talents in China.
The Joint Center brings together the superior resources of GETECH, TCL Industrial Research Institute, and CSOT to leverage synergies and advance cutting-edge innovation and the implementation of R&D achievements in smart manufacturing. Currently, the Joint Center will focus on the R&D and application of AI in manufacturing scenarios.
ADC Visual Inspection System Based on AI Algorithms: Giving Industry Eyes and a Brain
ADC is a product defect classification and detection technology based on artificial intelligence algorithms. It intelligently classifies and identifies defects in component images during production, helping manufacturing enterprises save labor and improve efficiency at the system level.
The team has already accumulated substantial ADC technical reserves: the Institute, with its strong R&D capabilities and technical积累, possesses rich image AI algorithms; GETECH, with its deep manufacturing expertise and business capabilities, is familiar with diverse business scenarios and has extensive experience in manufacturing IT and core production management information system construction and integration, along with self-developed OEE/IFM systems. Building on these ADC reserves, the Joint Center will continue to explore ADC applications in more scenarios and industries.
Manufacturing Big Data x AI Algorithm Platform: Building the Central Brain of Smart Manufacturing
The Joint Center will focus on the exploration and validation of AI applications in manufacturing. Centered on the full lifecycle of manufacturing big data, it will develop a big data platform and an AI algorithm mid-platform for smart manufacturing applications to achieve cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and enhanced factory capacity and yield rates.
Big Data Platform
The big data platform handles the storage, computation, and productization packaging of massive data, forming the core data capability of enterprises and providing strong support for customized innovation and continuous evolution of data feedback.
AI Algorithm Mid-Platform
The AI algorithm mid-platform obtains data from the big data platform and interacts with business modules through standardized interfaces. It offers comprehensive AI services for business models such as quality inspection, process optimization, and equipment health prediction, flexibly providing product-level algorithm capabilities including classification, detection, analysis, and prediction, serving as the central brain of smart manufacturing.
Leveraging the massive data from CSOT's production processes, the Joint Center will conduct AI data mining and machine learning. By combining AI data-driven approaches with mechanistic methods, it aims to address critical issues in smart manufacturing such as quality, efficiency, energy consumption, and cost. This will accelerate the validation of advanced smart manufacturing technologies on CSOT production lines and promote their application across more manufacturing scenarios, including semiconductors, electronics, communications, and home appliances.
With the establishment of the Joint Center, Gechuang, as a core force, will engage in deeper exploration and accumulate high-quality expertise in the frontier areas of AI, big data, and industrial integration. On the platform provided by the Joint Center, Gechuang will deeply participate in cutting-edge technological innovation, develop solutions for frontline production scenarios, and validate them in top-tier smart manufacturing factories in China, accelerating its journey to become a leader in smart manufacturing.
