In 2020, the Industrial Internet and Artificial Intelligence were highlighted in the Central Politburo meeting and included in the 7 major areas of new infrastructure. On March 23, Dr. Wang Jin, Chief Manufacturing Consultant of GETECH, was invited to share insights on 'Industrial Application Intelligent Platform Development and User Needs' in Tencent's Industrial Public Welfare Course.

GETECH is an Industrial Internet platform empowering frontline production, designed for OT personnel. Leveraging TCL's 40 years of smart manufacturing strategy and extensive industrial scenarios, the platform has rapidly evolved into an Industrial Application Intelligent Platform.


Initially, we developed an IoT platform to aggregate data; then a Big Data platform for analysis; and now an APaaS (Industrial Application) Intelligent Platform to apply data value in production. | Case Study: Industrial Application Intelligent Platform


I’ll share a case of a lighthouse enterprise using the Industrial Internet to improve product quality, reduce equipment maintenance, and enhance personnel efficiency. The platform delivered multi-scenario solutions, generating over 30 million yuan in annual benefits. More importantly, it helped the enterprise navigate challenges like rapid technological changes, shifting customer demands, and intense global competition.

The client, a leading LCD panel manufacturer with strong IT and automation foundations, collaborated with GETECH on the following:


Building an IoT platform to connect more devices, integrate high-value collection equipment, use edge computing for comprehensive data acquisition, and gather more data via the Industrial Internet. Predictive maintenance models for industrial components reduced manual inspections by 80%.


We developed GeekMind (a factor mining and modeling tool for industrial big data analysis) in the client’s environment. It quickly identifies abnormal factors through independent and dependent variable analysis, forming the basis for many solutions. For example, the virtual metrology solution uses GeekMind to predict product quality on production lines, reducing the need for sampling if data falls within acceptable ranges. This application lowered inspection frequency, improved yield, and shortened production cycles by 0.61 days.


AI also excelled in AOI inspection scenarios. Replacing manual optical inspection with GeekMind’s AI system enabled rapid defect detection. Anomaly interception was advanced by 1-2 hours, and production cycles at inspection stations were reduced by 60%.

From our practice, it’s essential to view this from the customer’s perspective and needs, addressing requirements in capacity, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance. Specifically, this means offering customized solutions with zero-code usability for those without technical expertise; an all-in-one platform supporting data processing, collection, management, analysis, visualization, and model training cycles; stable performance; reduced procurement and implementation costs with support for public/private cloud deployment; out-of-the-box SaaS platforms with customization; and ensured data and system security.


Future directions include SaaS deployment on public clouds, low-code exploratory development, rich features encompassing models, algorithms, BI, and AI, and robust security management.






The overarching direction for the Industrial Internet is data-driven intelligence under extensive connectivity. Adhering to this, we will achieve the value upgrade of Industrial Internet platforms from 'users making decisions' to 'helping users make decisions,' and ultimately 'making decisions for users'!
