World Earth Day, initiated on April 22 each year since 1970, aims to raise public awareness of solving environmental issues and calls for protecting the Earth's environment through green, low-carbon lifestyles. The 'Innovate For Care' event, aligned with World Earth Day, collected dozens of digital energy-saving solutions for industrial applications within GCL Grid. Employees wearing specially made 'Innovate For Care' T-shirts voluntarily appeared on camera to share energy-saving solutions and call for more companies and individuals to innovate actively.

According to GCL engineers, industrial parks are one of the main battlefields between nature and exhaust emissions. Various exhaust gases released during combustion and production processes in industrial enterprises are a major cause of air pollution. Reporting waste emission data such as chlorine, ammonia, and nitrogen to the IoT platform and monitoring key parameters significantly reduces energy consumption and notably enhances the production capacity of process equipment.

Applying digital technology more in the energy sector and using big data technology and internet thinking to improve pollution reduction efficiency can achieve more balanced energy distribution.

GCL Grid proposes using AIoT technology to save energy for air compressors

Air compressors are one of the most fundamental energy power equipment in the industrial sector, widely used in food, textiles, chemicals, power, automotive, tires, steel, semiconductors, and other industries. Air compressor equipment has two major characteristics: high energy consumption—industrial compressors consume about 9% of the nation's total electricity annually; expensive maintenance—the service life of air compressors is generally over 10 years, with the one-time procurement cost accounting for only 5% of their entire lifecycle.

"The Dongzhi Air Compressor AIoT system we developed integrates big data analysis and the operational mechanism model of air compressor equipment, establishing an AI algorithm model specifically for fault diagnosis of air compressor equipment. Through local operational control, it achieves energy savings and intelligent maintenance for air compressor equipment, reducing energy consumption by 5% to 10% for enterprises," said Wang Hui from GCL Grid's regional sales team.

Smart manufacturing team uses IoT technology to help enterprises achieve ultimate energy savings

"The factory served by our team is an excellent benchmark for energy conservation, having nearly achieved ultimate energy savings. But when new technologies emerge, they bring new breakthroughs. We attempt to use IoT technology and data visualization platforms for energy consumption analysis of process and power equipment, effectively identifying energy-saving points in various systems."

"Electricity is the most important part of factory energy consumption, accounting for 90% of energy costs. Through data analysis, we clearly know where electricity is 'wasted' more. A small example: this production line and that production line have the same product quantity and type, so why is the energy consumption here 10% higher? The same production line, same process, same equipment—why is there a difference in energy consumption? We pursue ultimate environmental protection through horizontal and vertical comparisons."
