Li Dongsheng Brings Three Proposals to the Two Sessions, Focusing on Globalization, Technological Innovation, and Securities Market Reform
As the 2020 Two Sessions approach, Li Dongsheng, a NPC deputy, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, founder and chairman of TCL, recently stated that this year's proposals will focus on three areas: 'enhancing Chinese enterprises' global operation capabilities', 'supporting industrial transformation and upgrading, accelerating new technology development', and 'securities market system reform'.
As a NPC deputy who has been re-elected for four terms, this is Li Dongsheng's 18th year in office. Facing this year's special circumstances, he has many feelings. 'Holding the Two Sessions at this special moment demonstrates to the world that China has preliminarily overcome the pandemic, and society has basically returned to normal, which will boost global confidence in fighting the pandemic!'
Below is an introduction to the specific proposals that Li Dongsheng, a NPC deputy, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, founder and chairman of TCL, will bring to this year's Two Sessions.
On economic globalization, Li Dongsheng expressed his firm view: 'Globalization will not be paused; it is a choice of market development that will greatly promote global economic growth. Chinese enterprises need to adjust their globalization strategies, not just sell products abroad, but establish industrial chains locally, produce and serve there, contributing to local economic development.'
As a benchmark for Chinese enterprises' globalization, TCL has undergone 20 years of global development, building a global layout covering design R&D, sales channels, brand marketing, production manufacturing, supply chain, and services. It currently has 28 R&D institutions, 10 joint laboratories, 22 manufacturing bases worldwide, with operations in over 160 countries and regions.
Currently, TCL Huaxing has built and is building 6 production lines with a total investment of nearly 200 billion yuan, forming a complete product line layout for large, medium, and small sizes. In 2019, it achieved the third global market share in TV panels and the second in LTPS smartphone panels.
In the future, TCL Huaxing aims to achieve leadership from efficiency and products to technology and ecology, through horizontal scale expansion and vertical industry chain extension, breaking through next-generation display technologies and materials, thereby leading the global display industry.
Li Dongsheng said: 'Reducing trading hours will increase hedging risks, and enterprises may suffer losses. For example, if a company is listed in China, Hong Kong, and the US, but the US and Hong Kong markets are trading while China's market is closed, it adds extra risk.'
Speaking about expectations for this year's sessions, Li Dongsheng is optimistic and confident: 'I am confident that China will continue to accelerate its economic development. Facing the difficulties and challenges of the global economic environment under the pandemic's impact, China will remain a key part of global economic growth.'
