On December 8, the first Carbon Neutrality Boao Conference was grandly opened at the Boao Forum for Asia International Conference Center in Hainan. The conference, hosted by the China Energy Conservation Association and co-hosted by Wuliangye Group, and organized by the Carbon Neutrality Professional Committee of the China Energy Conservation Association, brought together environmental experts, economists, and corporate representatives to deeply discuss how to respond to the new international changes, build a new development pattern, and implement new development concepts in the era of carbon neutrality transformation.

The conference featured novel and rich topics, a strong academic atmosphere, and experts from various industries delivering diverse presentations, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and collision.
Wang Hui, head of the Smart Energy Division of GETECH, was invited to participate in a roundtable titled "Focusing on the 'Dual Carbon' Goals—Co-creating a Blueprint for Urban Carbon Neutrality," discussing core pathways for manufacturing enterprises to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, promoting sustainable development and accelerating industrial upgrading.

Currently, new-generation ICT technologies such as cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, edge computing, and 5G are flourishing, building a new industrial internet infrastructure to help various industries improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

Addressing how manufacturing enterprises can achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, Wang Hui outlined four stages and key points for implementation at the factory level:

Manufacturing enterprises must first establish a basic energy measurement system to make energy consumption data visible. Among the hundreds of enterprises GETECH has engaged with in recent years, over 60% lack even the most basic three-level measurement. Additionally, enterprises need to build a comprehensive and systematic energy management center, using intelligent means to replace traditional manual and handwritten records, improving energy management efficiency.

No.2 Accurate Calculation

This includes precisely identifying points of energy waste, carbon emission boundaries, carbon auditing, and carbon footprint. However, a current challenge is that industry standards for carbon emissions, carbon footprint accounting, and energy efficiency standards across various sectors are not yet fully established and require time to improve.

No.3 Manageability

Enterprises should take effective measures to reduce energy waste, adjust energy usage structures, optimize carbon asset management, and achieve a value闭环 in energy and carbon management. For example, through energy-saving renovations, improving and controlling the energy efficiency of power and energy equipment.

No.4 Sustainability

Establish a sustainable management system to ensure the above three stages form a virtuous cycle, continuously improving.
