Industrial internet provides common opportunities globally

Li Dongsheng first pointed out that currently, China's manufacturing industry faces both opportunities and challenges for high-quality development, and new-generation information technologies like industrial internet are key to breaking the deadlock. 'In the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in the international political and economic situation have brought great uncertainty to global and Chinese economic development. The more difficult the environment, the more need for emerging technologies like industrial internet to achieve transformation in industrial development methods and enhancement of industrial chain positions, strengthening the resilience, efficiency, and quality of China's manufacturing industry.'

Additionally, Li Dongsheng proposed that 'industrial internet injects new momentum into high-quality development of manufacturing'. Specifically, industrial internet can accelerate the transformation of manufacturing towards intelligence, greenization, and servitization. From an enterprise perspective, industrial internet can help companies build smart factories, improve production efficiency and operational capabilities, and enhance comprehensive competitiveness. From an industry perspective, industrial internet is moving from production lines to industrial chains, driving the connectivity and upgrade of the entire manufacturing industry chain and value chain. Globally, since the concept of industrial internet was proposed in 2012, developed economies like the EU and developing economies such as China and ASEAN have followed up, introducing policies related to digital transformation of manufacturing. Smart manufacturing becomes TCL's development动能

TCL is one of the early enterprises in China to explore the integration of digital technology and manufacturing. As early as 2015, TCL identified smart manufacturing as a strategic development goal. After the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the industry faced downward pressure, but TCL achieved counter-trend growth for two consecutive years, with full-year revenue reaching 252.3 billion yuan in 2021, reaching Fortune 500 scale,其中 smart manufacturing capability became one of the development动因.

In building smart manufacturing benchmark factories with demonstration effects, TCL Huaxing has achieved networked management of over 100,000 devices on the industrial site and data integration of various business systems through industrial internet platform construction, basically realizing a production control and equipment management mode driven by data and defined by software. From 2018 to present, the tangible benefits from the application of digital technology in quality improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement have reached 230 million yuan. TCL Huaxing's Shenzhen factory and Wuhan factory have been awarded the national-level smart manufacturing benchmark factory by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In 2018, TCL established GETECH and launched the Dongzhi Industrial Application Smart Platform to strengthen the support of industrial internet for its own transformation and upgrading and high-quality development, and to open its core capabilities for digital transformation and upgrading to the entire industry,即 'internal empowerment, external output'. In terms of internal empowerment, GETECH helped TCL Huaxing achieve the application of artificial intelligence in product defect judgment (ADC project). The ADC project is the first applied artificial intelligence automatic defect classification system in the液晶 panel industry, bringing significant效益 improvements to TCL Huaxing's production lines, replacing over 50% of manpower, and achieving annual economic benefits of over ten million yuan. Its AI recognition speed increased by 5-10 times, and accuracy improved from 85% with the human eye to over 90%. Currently, the Dongzhi Industrial Application Smart Platform has沉淀 nearly 30,000 industrial models, accumulated over 10,000 industrial apps, and was selected in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's '2022 Cross-Industry Cross-Domain Industrial Internet Platform' list in 2022—this also means that China's only industrial internet platform originating from semiconductor manufacturing and深耕泛 semiconductor and新能源 has passed 'national-level' inspection. Relying on the Dongzhi Industrial Application Smart Platform, TCL has greatly improved the development efficiency and quality of industrial software, achieving breakthroughs in core technologies of industrial software in the semiconductor manufacturing field. Currently, over 80% of TCL Huaxing's core software systems have been self-developed, and technical output has been provided to over twenty key enterprises in the semiconductor industry. 'In the future, TCL is willing to strengthen cooperation with industry enterprises, jointly seize the major opportunities of global economic格局 adjustment and China's manufacturing development, enhance technological innovation, and contribute to the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry and the transformation and upgrading of China's economy,' Li Dongsheng said.
