On January 6, 2023, TCL Technology COO Wang Cheng announced: "The first prize winner of the 2022 First TCL Industrial Geek Competition development track is the 'Zhixin Huiyan' team from TCL Huaxing Intelligent Manufacturing Group." This marks the successful conclusion of the 2022 First TCL Industrial Geek Competition, which lasted 4 months, involved 18 industries, and saw fierce competition from over 200 high-quality entries. It also signifies another solid step forward for TCL in its innovation-driven development model.

TCL has always been a leader in digital transformation for large enterprises because it recognized early that digital transformation is a long-term systematic project with challenges from various aspects. From technical control to business innovation, organizational change to cultural reshaping, and digital capability building to talent cultivation, the success of digital transformation must rely on comprehensive innovation.

In July 2022, the first Industrial Geek Competition was officially launched with the goal of cultivating全员 digital capabilities and挖掘 micro-innovations. The competition, under the slogan "Everyone is an Industrial Geek," aimed to help TCL employees grow into new talents who develop with the enterprise and become the smallest innovation units for high-quality development.

We are very pleased to see that the competition attracted thousands of employees from 18 industries, uncovering and implementing a batch of excellent micro-innovation digital projects, and even forming some enterprise-level digital solutions. This competition showcased the vibrant scene of every TCL person using digital tools as production resources, continuously leveraging the value of digital technology, and working together to advance towards the goal of global leadership.

GETECH CEO He Jun, who attended the award ceremony, said:

As the initiator and organizer of this competition, we provided participants with rich tool platforms, such as no-code platforms like Geek Workshop, RPA, BI, and low-code development platforms like Poros and T-work; Microsoft, as a special sponsor partner, also provided the Microsoft Power Platform to help participants熟练 use digital tools. Among them, about 63% of the entries were built on no-code platforms, and about 37% used low-code development platforms and other tools. For business personnel, even with zero or basic IT knowledge, they can efficiently and easily implement business ideas through no-code tools.

 

Additionally, many business innovation opportunities were discovered during the competition. Through collaboration between business and IT personnel, projects were promoted and solutions were implemented, generating significant business value: all final entries are expected to produce tangible benefits of 83 million yuan annually, as well as intangible benefits such as optimizing management systems,重构 business, and沉淀 experience智库.

The competition also invited senior experts and leaders from business departments such as R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, human resources, and marketing to serve as judges. The "Smart Experiment System" developed a smart experiment system based on GETECH's Poros platform, focusing on the experimental phase of new products, materials, and processes. TCL Industrial T Da IoT Low-code Solution Team

The T Da system is a visual low-code development platform for smart homes across multiple platforms and terminals; it changes the previously cumbersome IoT ecosystem access process through drag-and-drop, allowing developers, product managers, or related personnel to quickly generate terminal APP product control panels and complete TCL IoT ecosystem access. After implementation, T Da has极致 reduced R&D costs and shortened单品 access cycles for the industry.

Through this competition, we are more坚定 that digital transformation must come from production and return to production. Every digital transformation product is a change to existing business. After years of effort, TCL's digital foundation has accumulated considerable experience. Although the 2022 First TCL Industrial Geek Competition has concluded, the fire of innovation continues to burn brightly within TCL, with many business improvement opportunities yet to be discovered.
